November - Getting Performance Ready

The colder weather is definitely coming and we have a lot of exciting things to look forward to as Christmas approaches.

My group lessons and Choir have started off so well. We have jumped straight into the deep end and are already working towards our first performances in December. I am so proud of what we have built and everyone's hard work in all of these sessions. There are no spaces left to join this term now but I will be opening up bookings for January in the next few weeks. Remember if you are a current student of mine, you will get 20% off and if you are a direct family member of a current student of mine, you will get 10% off.

In my private lessons, we have also been working towards our annual Christmas showcase. All my students have been working so hard and I can't wait for them to show you what they are made of.

You can buy tickets for all of my showcases on the following link. I would love to have as big an audience as possible. Not only will it give all the students a wonderful audience, it also means that we will be able to do more events like this! So share with family and friends, it really means a lot!

Congratulations!

A big congratulations to some of my students for gaining parts in their Drama cube musical of The Little Mermaid. Congratulations to Clara for Ariel, Wilf for Prince Eric and both Poppy and Rosie for Flounder. How fantastic!

As always, I love to find out what my students are up to so please let me know. There's so much for us to be excited about!

Ellie's Top 5 Tips for confidence when singing in front of an audience

With performances coming up, it feels only right to give some tips on how to build confidence when performing. Building confidence for singing performances is essential for delivering your best vocal performance on stage. Here are the top 5 tips for boosting your singing performance confidence. Preparation and Practice: Thoroughly prepare for your performance by practicing your songs, vocal techniques, and stage presence. The more confident you feel in your abilities, the more confident you'll be on stage. Visualise Success: Spend time visualising a successful performance. Close your eyes and imagine yourself on stage, singing well, and connecting with the audience. This mental rehearsal can help reduce anxiety and boost confidence. Warm-Up Before the Performance Engage in a vocal warm-up routine before going on stage. This not only helps to improve your vocal performance but also gives you a sense of control and readiness. Warm-ups can calm nerves and provide a sense of confidence in your vocal abilities. Control Nervousness: Nervousness is common before a performance. To manage it effectively, practice deep breathing exercises, positive self talk, and muscle relaxation. These techniques can help you stay calm and focused. Connect with the Audience: Build a connection with your audience. Maintain eye contact, engage with your body language, and project your emotions through your singing. Remember that the audience is there to enjoy your music and support you. The more you perform in front of an audience, the more your confidence will grow. Give yourself as many opportunities to perform as possible. Remember that confidence is a skill that can be developed over time. It's normal to feel nervous or anxious before a performance, but with consistent practice and the right mindset, you can boost your confidence and enjoy your time on stage.
